EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that developing self-confidence and reliability, as well as self respect, are important and necessary qualities. I believe that these characteristics are most important in the foundation of a student, and support my strengths based approach to teaching.
I am passionate about knowledge and education, and offer creative and new ideas to teach students that promote strength, confidence, and passion for learning.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
My university education began at Concordia University, where I completed an undergraduate degree in Sociology. I then continued my education at the University of Ottawa, where I received a Bachelors of Education with honors.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
My teaching experience began in 2008, where I worked at a school for special needs students. I then continued teaching elementary schools and high schools in both normative and special needs environments. This past year I have been working for a re-adaptation center specifically for autism focusing on ABA Therapy.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am passionate about animals and while I myself have a dog and cat, I have also volunteered for many animal shelters. I also enjoy reading, whether it be fiction or non-fiction, and often will refer to a book for insight and therapeutic recreation. In addition, I also enjoy sports and work out regularly.
