EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe all children can learn. I believe it is important for an educator to begin with this philosophy in order to help students and staff grow. Educators must also bring their enthusiasm to this
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I received my undergraduate degree from Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia in 2005 where I was very active in a variety of organizations. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish. I also completed my graduate degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in May of 2015. I hope to use this degree in future roles within professional development and training spheres in the education field.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I currently train and coach over 40 teachers on how to improve literacy instruction. I also worked in virtual reading curriculum design after leaving the classroom, where I spent 5 years teaching Kindergarten, second grade, and third grade students. I have spent summers teaching abroad.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
My extracurricular activities vary, but tend to gravitate towards service oriented opportunities. In my spare time, I can easily be found stand-up paddle boarding, serving in outreach work, or enjoying my time at a book club discussion. Cycling and baking are among my favorite past times.
