EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe in the old saying that where there is a will, there is a way. If a student has a willingness to learn then there is definitely a way to get the knowledge to them. The biggest item of importance is the capability of teachers to deliver and redeliver information to students in such a manner as to continuously change until we are able to meet their learning capabilities.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I am currently completing my PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with Capella University. I completed my Masters of Science Degree in Secondary Education from University of Phoenix in 2010. I completed my undergraduate degree in Mathematics with Valdosta State University in 2008. I have thus obtained certification in AVID methods of teaching. I have used these strategies along with my in depth knowledge of Mathematics to increase student learning throughout a diverse student population.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I am currently a Mathematics Teacher and Department Head. I have been teaching since 2008.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I have always been an outside person. I grew up fishing and still enjoy fishing today. I find it relaxing to be able to sit quietly on the lake or even by the pier. I am also big on sports. I use to coach 9th grade basketball. I now enjoy watching and playing basketball, as well as watching track.
