EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I am committed to a constructionist approach of learning and am flexible in adapting to different learning styles.
My focus is on concept acquisition, skills development and emotional engagement.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the Universidad Simón Bolívar, Venezuela, as well as a Master’s degree in Math Education from the Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador, Venezuela.
I have participated in workshops on Adaptive Computing Technology (ADAPT-IT and EASI-SEM) and Equal Access to Software and Information. I participated in the Ready To Teach Program at SAIT and the Introduction to Distance Education and Training course at Athabasca University.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I successfully taught geometry to two blind of birth students. During this time I developed some materials and strategies that led me to research and write two works on math education for blind people.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I made a nationwide survey of blind and visually impaired people studying at National Open University in Venezuela. I am active member of my Parish. My wife and I have delivered the message of the Annual Bishop’s Appeal to the Parish.
