I believe that every student can learn and maximize their multiple intelligences. Every person is a life-long learner who, when placed in a nurturing and supportive environment, which holds high expectations for them, is able to thrive.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. This included a dual certification in general and special education. I also received a Master’s Degree in Special Education. I am a certified teaching in Connecticut.

I taught at the middle school level for twelve years. I absolutely loved this age group. They not only deserved an academic program that targeted their academic strengths and weaknesses, but demanded an emotional investment on the part of their teachers as well. I spent the majority of my teaching career at the elementary level, teaching grades 2 through 4. I loved the enthusiasm of my students and the opportunity I had as a teacher to be part of important and critical early learning experiences.

I had the opportunity to co-lead a town sponsored outward bound camping and hiking experience for middle school students for twenty years. We hiked along the famous Appalachian Trail in western Massachusetts and Connecticut, paddled in white water and rock climbed. I have coached little league baseball and basketball. I am also the author of 4 published books for children.
