EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
When I work with students, I try to help them understand the major concepts behind what they are learning. I believe that developing an understanding for concepts in history or social sciences means that students truly have developed a level of comprehension by which they can analyze and think critically about a topic. I also believe that writing is very important to learning and enjoy working with students on developing their essays and creative writing.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I attended the University of Windsor where I received my Bachelors of Arts in Sociology. I was both a Research Assistant and a Teaching Assistant at University of Windsor and worked with many students during that time.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
At the University of Windsor I spent two years in the role of Teaching Assistant. I worked with other students on their papers and facilitated classroom discussions. Both formally and informally, I have worked with many people on their writing whether it is academic or creative writing and developed many strategies to help people expand their thoughts in writing.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I have volunteered at the Windsor Workers Action Centre and the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. I am an avid reader and writer and am interested in social action causes and outreach.
