EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
My goal is to help students organize their thoughts and express themselves clearly in writing. I believe that in order to be effective, a learning environment must be safe, open, and collaborative. I encourage students to always ask questions, be analytical, and think outside the box!
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I have a bachelor’s degree in English from Christian Brothers University and a master’s degree in English with a concentration in Linguistics from the University of Memphis. I was the recipient of the CBU Literature and Languages Faculty Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in the English Major.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have three years of experience teaching composition and business writing at the university level. I have taught online, hybrid, and on-campus courses to traditional and adult students.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I was Spanish Club president and a member of Mu Alpha Theta in high school. During college and graduate school, I worked for Memphis City Schools as an educational assistant. I also did private tutoring in Spanish.
STANDARDIZED TEST RESULTS
I scored 25, 32 and 35 on my ACT Math, Science and English portions respectively.
