EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I am dedicated to helping students develop and reach their potential by facilitating a positive, supportive, and creative learning environment for their growth, well-being and achievement. I intend to utilize 21st Century Learning and appropriate pedagogy within an inquiry-based environment to do this.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
After graduating from University of Alberta’s B.F.A. program in 1998, I completed an After-Degree in Secondary Education with a minor in ESL. I recently graduated from University of Alberta’s English Diploma Program through the Education Faculty.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
In addition to tutoring mainly Junior High and High School students, I substitute teach for the LINC program at Metro Continuing Education, Edmonton Public Schools. I have also had substitute teaching assignments at Ermineskin Junior and Senior High School.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I do volunteer work for various organizations, such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association, as well as for schools to assist students. I am motivated to volunteer when I see a need I believe I can fill or when I am approached by recruiters, individuals, or groups.
