About Me
SUBJECTS
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
I believe that learning is best accomplished in a collaborative environment, in which the student is taught in a manner that fosters participation and independent, critical thought. By avoiding straight lecturing and instead working with a more participatory teaching method, students can more easily and quickly reach breakthroughs on their own.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I received my Masters of Arts Degree in American History from Loyola University Chicago in 2012. While in college, I also studied history along with the varied course load that comes with a liberal arts education, including courses in educational theory/policy and educational psychology.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have over 5 years experience as an in-class math tutor.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
In my spare time I work as a contributing producer for a public radio station in Chicago (Vocalo 90.7FM) and I formerly interned at Sound Opinions, a nationally syndicated radio show that originated on WBEZ in Chicago. I also work as a freelance writer for a few music publications along with maintaining my own music blog.
