EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
It is my goal and passion to bring a hands-on curriculum to student even through a digital medium. I strongly believe that students learn best when they can touch the content through a variety of skills. I focus on analytic and research skills by using a wide range of media and technology. I would bring to your school a dedicated, compassionate, intelligent teacher who would care for the well-being of the students and a loyalty to the teaching craft and to the school.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I put myself through school beginning with general education courses at CPCC in Charlotte, NC. I then transferred to UNCC in pursuit of my Bachelors in History which was obtained in 2007. I earned my Post-Baccalaureate in Secondary Education Social Science from Western Governors University in 2010. Currently, I am working on earning my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction Social Studies through Concordia University.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have over 5 years of teaching experience in total at various grade levels.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
From 2009-2011 I was the lip sync adviser for the class of 2012. I was in charge of authentic dance coordination and collaborated with students on music and costume. I was the coach for E.E. Smith’s first Chess club since the school’s founding in 1927. Comprised mostly of 9th graders, I coached them on the basic skills and strategies in chess play.
